While the premise of this book sounded interesting, and the actual core plot provided some excellent comedy, I was left feeling ultimately disappointed in this book. The two main characters, Emmeline and Will, played second fiddle to our orphans, George and Rose. While I ADORED the children, and think the author did a fabulous job of writing them and their hijinks, I never became invested in Emmeline and Will, the two I should care about. Moreover, while this book is branded as romance, there is next to none. It encapsulates a lot of the tropes inherent to romance, but doesn't take them any further than surface level.
If you are looking for a story about two plucky orphans, scooped into a wild scheme by selfish adults who end up caring about them more than their own selfish desires, then this might be the book for you! I was just left feeling a little disappointed. But as always with Enoch, the writing is incredible.

3.5 maybe. it was really cute and i loved feeling a bit like watching downton abbey. the ending is too rushed, tho.
Something in the Heir is a miss for me. Emmeline and Will are due to inherit a house, but have to have children to do so. They tell a lie and end up bringing in some orphans to fool their grandfather. I don't think that this book is really a romance novel, but rather more of a family story.

This is marketed as a romance, but it's not really. The plot is also waaaay too drawn out. Not so bad that I DNF but bad enough that I considered it.
Fue muy divertido y dulce, pero siento que las partes más importante fueron desarrolladas de forma simple y banal, lo cual fue un poco decepcionante
I really struggled with rating this book. You see, I saw the mass market cover and it made me think that the book was going to be an open door romance. I’ve added the mass market cover and another cover of one of her other books on the next slide. Seriously, the marketing team must have decided to make it look steamy for the MM edition when it’s the farthest from the truth. This book is the ultimate closed door romance. We don’t find out till they wake up in bed together the next morning! The romance, while there, isn’t really the main focus of the book.
I think if I knew that going into it then it would have been a 4⭐️ for me. For that reason I bumped it up from a 3.5⭐️ instead of dropping it down to a 3⭐️
The book is super sweet and amusing. It’s all about found family and, in a way, a second chance romance. The hijinxs of the kids are super comical and yet there’s also some deeper moments about how these two incredibly young kids had to grow up so early to survive the life that they lived.
My only issues with the book (besides the romance) is that it was a bit too repetitive with the husband and wife's thoughts towards their attraction to each other without much growth in the emotions. I think it also suffered a bit with having to many POVs yet at the same time they were needed to tell the whole story soooo

It was bizarre and funny. I'm happy with how it ended.

Are you looking for multiple POV, found family, adorable kids, and a sweet romance then Something in the Heir is perfect for you. I started reading it beginning of a four hour flight and I was finished by the time we landed. The entire time I was content and happy. Seriously sometimes books are just like a warm hug and exactly what you need. Not all romances need to be heavy on the spice to be enjoyable. Also it’s rare to see a multiple POV in a romance novel but I really liked it. If you are looking for something to warm your spirits, Something in the Heir is for you.
