3.5 rounding up. This one was adorable. It's a unique plot, this decree about the property and who lives there and gets to keep it. I love the twist of the childrenless couple and how they grow as the story progresses. The kids were great characters, full of wit and spunk - I loved their shenanigans and their strong wills.
The POV does bounce around a little and I wasn't sure what I'd think -but I liked the added perspective of a few of the staff members, the kids and even the brother. It completed the story, gave us situations and perspectives that we needed and I appreciated the added parts to the story. This was adorable and entertaining. So glad I gave it a try!
A huge thank you to the author and publisher for providing an e-ARC via Netgalley. This does not affect my opinion regarding the book.

3.5/5
This was a good book about two people who have a marriage of convenience for their own reasons but a lie from Emmie about having kids comes up and now the couple must find kids to help solve their problem. When I first picked up this book, I was expecting romance in this scheme of the couple trying to find kids but let me say that there is a hint of romance and a lot of comedy. The comedy in this book was great and I enjoyed how the author wrote the story. It was unique and different from what I have read before so I enjoyed the plot. The pacing was a bit slow but I enjoyed the setting and the author did a great job overall writing this book.
This book is in both Emmie's and Will's pov. I do have to say that the povs were written really weirdly because sometimes it would get confusing whose pov you are reading. Both characters were funny to read about but I really couldn't connect with them. I really enjoyed seeing their development though and seeing the romance spark connect at some points throughout the novel. There were also many side characters in this book and I really enjoyed Rose and George who were so cute making the story better. They were hilarious and seeing their development with Emmie and Will was so sweet. The romance was lacking but there are bits of it but I guess the main love comes from becoming a family.
The ending was well done and this story has an epilogue. Though I have to say that I was expecting a lot more romance in this book then I got but I totally didn't expect for the book to go in this way which was good. I have happy with the character development because that does bring in the stars for the book. Overall it was a very good read and I think many readers who don't like explicit romance would enjoy this rom-com.

I thought the premise was unique and saw a lot of potential in the opening chapters, from the humor to the promise of our main characters, Emmeline and Will, falling in love after eight years in a marriage of convenience after being childhood friends and Will being obviously in love with Emmeline the entire time. However, I didn’t like the protagonists, they are very shallow and arrogant, and the lengths they go to to maintain their home and status are so unfeeling and sadly very sloppy. They tried to steal their friends’ children, and their separate lives for 8 years is just odd, even for a marriage of convenience. I have mixed feelings about the book. It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t a stand-out read. Overall, it was just okay and was somewhat underwhelming. I had no desire to finish this book, and am somewhat saddened at the let down of a cute premise.
Very cute and a fun read. The romance was a bit lacking imo, but I still really enjoyed it.

I liked it, the characters were funny and the plot refreshing. My only issue is that the main characters were so selfish for almost all of the book. They were on their high horse and only focused on getting their home that they didn’t really think about the kids like they should, besides how lucky they were for the experience. When they did start to think of them, keeping the house still came first. The issue was resolved but it still annoyed me.
This was a fun book but not really a romance. That was my main disappointment. Once the kids are introduced to the story, it's almost 100% kiddie hijinks. I was hoping for a bit more romance than I got (or a lot more). I feel like the sweet romantic story was there, just hidden behind two very precocious kids.
