usually I’d power through the book but I don’t want to sit through every single etiquette lesson the kids get and how they have to cajole them into doing it for another 30% (AT LEAST). like how are we halfway thru the book and barely anything has happened
also does the annoying (to me) thing where it’ll switch third person narrators in consecutive paragraphs. kinda confusing

I've no desire to be part of a society where appearances are more important than substance. However, in fiction you can observe actions you wouldn't condone and the slow realization that everything is already just as you want it. I love Hannah and Tom for being as wholesome as they appear. I love George and Rose for the true things they value.

Very cute. Was on my TBR shelf for months and glad I finally read it. I also love sassy little orphans and gutter snipes that make you laugh and pull at your heart strings, so there’s that.
Thank you netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I thought this historical romance had a few charming moments when the orphaned children were introduced. Unfortunately the romance lacked real, heated chemistry. Both protagonist enter into a business type marriage but 8 years later they realize that may not be enough. I thought both characters were pretty plain and the children brings life to this story.
