Bored, didn’t care about the character and the storyline anymore, this whole „dad was a spy in the war“ was too much and unrealistic

This book is a really fun read about one of the most interesting characters!
Ruby Devereaux, a writer, tells her life story, teetering between unbelievable and unbelievably amazing. This is "old people tell the best stories" in book form and it's a perfect book to read if you're looking for something fun, about life and not taking it too seriously.

It was alright, but I don’t like when writers use modern language in a book set in the last century and I knew this author was American by words they used which a Londoner would not. Fun holiday read though. If you like this type of story, William Boyd’s any human heart is much better.

This was an entertaining read. The format is like a series of vignettes, or a novel in stories. The title and description suggest similarities to [b:The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo|32620332|The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo|Taylor Jenkins Reid|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1664458703l/32620332._SY75_.jpg|46885151], but while Evelyn Hugo is about love, Ruby Deveraux is about living. We should all aim to have such colorful lives!
