No fue lo que esperaba aunque no significa que me haya decepcionado simplemente esperaba que me rompiera al leerlo pero no, esto es realmente una carta de amor a su hermana y de vez en cuando pone una que otra cifra sobre violencia de género. 
Siento que la autora lo escribió principalmente para ella misma, como parte de su proceso de duelo y como un homenaje a su hermana lo que lo vuelve un libro conmovedor pero demasiado personal como para poder quizás conectar con otras perdidas. 
Aún así me gustó mucho su prosa. Me iré a escuchar "lucha de gigantes" que hace mucho que no escuchaba.

I ripped through this book. As someone who has a family history of domestic and intimate partner violence, this was triggering for me to read, but I couldn't put it down. It is written to beautifully and thoughtfully. Cristina Rivera Garza doesn't just retrace the years leading up to her sisters untimely death, she paints a picture of her sister's life and personhood in such a tender and loving way. I don't think I'll be quick to forget this book. One of the best books and memoirs I've ever read.

it’s the feeling of being trapped, suffocated. not able to reach the surface. not being able to breathe under the weight of the pressure - the pressure placed upon women at the hands of men to surrender and conform and abandon our sense of self. of the loss that occurs when a man thinks a woman is only theirs and nothing more

this memoir is painful and beautiful and striking
