teetering between 3.5 and 4 stars

definitely better than throne of glass, but it was sitting at a firm 3 until about halfway through when things started picking up! however once they did pick up i found myself unable to put it down, which is always a good sign

very much enjoying this series so far and excited to see what happens from here!

onto assassin’s blade 🗡️🩸

Re-read. If I didn't have so much going on this week, I would have flown through this in a day. As it was, I used every spare moment and bit of energy reading COM. The further introductions of Wyrdmarks and Wyrdkeys -- perfectly sets up what is to follow in the rest of the series. And the first half of this book was peak Chaolena, and their inevitable fallout still hurts to witness. On my first read, Celaena's parting words to Chaol "I'll always pick you" left me with some hope that things would change, maybe a reunion would come. But ... well, we'll get to that in the later books.
