A reread for me, albeit in a different format. This is such a fun and cozy fall read. It's not suspenseful or shocking in anyway, very Hallmark-esque but honestly - sometimes that's what a girl needs!

I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a no-strings attached, fluffy cozy read.

A very typical book for the genre.
I like the premise a lot, but struggled to connect with the leads, who both frustrated me.
I also found the plot to be very standard for a romantic novel and the "mystery" was barely anything.
I'll read the next one at some point to see if it improves.

First 1/3 of the book had cute, cozy small town in fall charm, some humor, and a tiny bit of character building.

It went downhill from there. The main characters act like teenagers who can't/won't communicate. They're supposed to be about 28 and 30, right??

Logan was an asshole.

Most of the characters were too one-dimensional.

Everyone was petty. Seriously, fighting over a costume contest??

The book club was kinda funny, but very cliche.

Also... if Dot is Jeanie's aunt, and Dot ran the cafe for many years, and Jeanie visited Dot there on weekends growing up, wouldn't at least *some* people in town know who Jeanie was??? That made no sense.

The spice was awkward and kind of painful to read.

Overall, cute premise, cute cover art, bad book.

It was a really lovely book, easy to read, fun, etc. But my main and only issue is that the secondary characters are way to forgettable and bland, I could not care any less about Hazel and Noah, and I kept getting Annie and Hazel confused.
