oh how this book reflects the realities of what a government would do to stay in power. THIS is a book EVERYONE should read to understand the world we live in. the struggles and pressure on 17 year old katniss is a reality to so many across our world but unfortunately we are blinded by capitalism and the glamorous lives of others to open our eyes and notice the struggle around us. people around the world are going through exactly what district 12 is and yet we ignore it bc “it’s not happening to us”. we need to WAKE UP!!! katniss and peeta mean so much to me bc they are so real and so relatable.

My main issue with the first book was that I felt the writing was a little meh - now is the continuous first person pov somewhat jarring and did the the over use of “he said” or “I say” feel a little…lazy? Yes. However, I felt that overall the writing was better.

I enjoyed this book more than the first one but maybe that’s just because I’m more attached to these characters now and the action is ramping up. I can already tell any future re-read of this series is gonna hit like crazy

Peeta Mellark outsold all of your faves. Everlark ❤️❤️❤️❤️✊
