As I started reading this my expectations were high. I laid all of my hopes for the futures of our heroes on this book. The beginning was a little hokey. It felt as if it was a combination of everything the fans wanted to happen all rolled into one book. As the book wore on though, the plot became less bizarre and became touching. The ending was beautiful. It did have cheesy moments, and was not anywhere near the first seven books. It was however a wonderful tale about a father and son, unlikely friends, and coming to terms with the past.

While I don't find this nearly as bad as everybody else seems to, I am still far from loving it. The plot starts out as OK but then it becomes more and more convoluted to the point of becoming ridiculous. Delphi's character feels so forced and not needed. My biggest issue with the book though, is that Harry acts completely out of character throughout the entirety of the story. On a positive note, I like Albus and Scorpius, their friendship was pretty fun to see. Overall, it's alright, but I absolutely don't consider it canon and neither should you. Probably will reread it some time in the future.

Satisfies a childhood craving and makes for good play marketing.

Decent read. I enjoyed that it was in playscript format, I don't think I would have enjoyed it had they tried to make it like the rest of the Harry Potter books.

2.5?? maybe?? the plot is pretty terrible but I like it a lot better than the first time I read it. also it’s Harry Potter so it still made me cry, and I desperately want to see it on stage.

Don't read this book, it has nothing in common with the rest of the series, and it will only make you hate the chracters you love.
