It was dark and spicy, the plot was there but they still managed to make it mostly smut

Very meh! I’m only moving on to book 2 (and beyond) because I always try to finish a series once I start it. This story could have been great, but it was way too rushed. The author would do well to take their time in future books.

I hated this book. It took me DAYS to get through even though it's only a 4.5 hour read. I had to stop so many times because of how cringe and poorly written it is.

If you actually read high quality books you won't like this. The characters are flat, it's all telling no showing, and we're somehow supposed to find misogyny hot?

It's so gross reading about this barely 18 year old girl have sex with all these older men who trat her terribly and we're supposed to find it hot? By the end of the book the main male character hasn't done anything to earn the heroine's forgiveness or affection yet she just gives it to him. She is a naive child.

This book is a thinly veiled size and "bad boy" kink. Additionally, the harem aspect is not fleshed out at all.

I held zero sympathy with Pan at all throughout the book and I have no intention of reading any other books in this series. It was so predictable and barely entertaining. I almost feel bad about how much I hated this book. It feels like punching down.

Despite being a huge fan of Peter Pan retellings, this was not for me. Thought I would get into it as I love the Wattpad vibes, but

I had not realised this book was spicy, but when I took note I thought I would just skim to make sure I didn't miss any plot. Jokes on me, there isn't really any plot until the last quarter of the book. For a book very preoccupied with intimacy, the scenes are very stiff and unnapealing and don't seem to provide the characters any connection.

A few things caught my eye though; that some of the scenes were very forceful and that the female main character was specifically mentioned to have just turned 18. No problem with the first, as long as the reader Is into that dynamic, but the second is alarming. She is written as a very sex positive woman, but she has no personality other than that, relegating her to being an object in the whole novel not just for the bedroom scenes.

There was one line that specifically made me laugh out loud with its absurdity, and thought I would remember it and could save it later, but by the end I couldn't even remember where it was or what it was about.

Terribly written, plot was very poorly strung together - despite being pleasantly surprised by the plot twist at the end - and the world building is very rough.

The premise was really interesting and I liked the world and set up, but there was no emotional depth and the the relationships fell flat as a result. This was way too short to have any meaningful character development and the lack of meaningful connection between Wendy and the guys took all the fun out of the smut. I think the author could have, possibly, written a decent book if it had been longer, but they tried to introduce too many love (lust, really) interests and too many plot threads in what feels like an underdeveloped novella. I didn't find the writing, plot, or characters compelling enough to read the next book in the series.

I was really interested in the Peter Pan retelling of this novel. I was looking for something dark with a lot of spice, and for the most part this book delivered. I started reading it at the start of a two-hour ✈️flight, and pretty much finished it during the flight. Landed with 30 pages left, and finished up while waiting for my ride.

Loved it. Fast-paced, hit all the beats I was expecting. Left room for the sequel. Could it have been darker? Yes. Could it have had more Character Development? Yes. Was I happy with the spice? YES!

Now to decide when/if I am going to read book 2. There is definitely a lot of room the world to grow, become darker, and more deadly.

This was an interesting retelling of Peter Pan. I didn’t find the characters that lovable because of the gratuitous amounts of sex in this book (which sometimes places character development on the back burner). I wish that Winnie’s character had more depth other than having mommy issues and loving sex. That would’ve captured my attention more, I think. The character I found most interesting was Vane - like what’s his deal? I would love to find out more about his character specifically. Kas and Bash were also very mysterious, so I guess this book was shrouded in mystery, and I had more questions than answers by the end of it. This is possibly a wonderful technique to have me read the second book in the series, so I’ll give the author credit for keeping me guessing, but wish there was just more here. It was definitely lacking in some areas.

I read this for a book club and oh my…I wonder how we’re going to discuss something this spicy at Panera on Sunday morning! 😂 It was a fun (QUICK) ride, but felt like horny fan-fic. Definitely heavier on the spice than the actual story.
