The world building of the planet is very interesting, but the city falls flat--It's supposed to be a dystopian police state, I think, but the actual problems in the city aren't explored. It ends up feeling like the police disappear people for refusing to go to bed when they're supposed to, which sort of makes me laugh. More than that though, I just couldn't tolerate the passive, unlikeable, one-dimensional characters anymore. The main character Sophie was just the worst, and Mouth was only interested in her MacGuffin. DNF @ 20%.
