2.5. The writing/concept in the beginning were both quite good but it just dragged on so long and became really overwritten by the end. I didn’t really see the twist coming but it felt much more like a character/interpersonal story with a mystery tacked on rather than actually fleshing out the suspense and reveal(s). The closest I’ve come to DNF this year.

This book was not great. It draggged on so much!!! I got really bored. Nothing excited me or kept me engaged. I only kept reading in hopes something wild was going to happen. I skimmed the last half of the book.
Started out strong and engaging but the last part of the book fell flat.
