Compelling page-turner with a hundred twists and turns. Psychological thrillers are not my usual cup of tea, but I liked the pace of this one. The mental health and neurology aspects didn’t quite work for me, but it’s my professional field to nitpick and it was great for lay reader.

I really enjoyed this book! I read My Husband's Wife and this is another great one by Jane Corry. I would definitely recommend this one! Thank you First To Read for giving me this arc in exchange for an honest review.

I'm usually all about secrets novels. I especially love one that revolves around a group of people who were involved in some disastrous, covered-up action in the past who have to come together again in the present to confront what really happened on that long-ago day. BLOOD SISTERS tells that sort of story, it just does it in a way that didn't really appeal to me. One of the tale's biggest problems is that it's populated by unlikable characters. The only one I really felt for was Alison's mum - the others all kind of get what they deserve. Plotwise, BLOOD SISTERS kept my attention, but its structure seemed clumsy, relying on some very contrived situations to push the action forward. The Big Reveals at the end drove me nuts, justifying my distrust and dislike of a certain character even more. All these things considered, I just did not love BLOOD SISTERS. It was an average, maybe even a little below-average, read for me.

Having read and enjoyed Jane Corry's previous novel "My Husband's Wife", I was eager to get my hands on this one. It was just as fast paced and chilling - I couldn't put it down. My only reasoning for giving it 3 out of 5 stars was because I didn't connect with the characters as much as I would have liked to but overall, this was a great read!

I received Blood Sisters in a Goodreads giveaway in exchange for an honest review.

Blood Sisters revolves around the fall out surrounding a day when three girls were heading to school and horror hit. One girl was killed, one disabled and one left to live with the guilt of the day for the rest of her life. Fifteen years later, the ghosts of that day come back full force and everyone is forced to face what happened that day head on.

I found the idea behind the story to be a good one, but parts of it just didn't resonate with me. Some parts of the story were really good, but other's just didn't seem plausible. Overall I enjoyed the story and am glad that I gave it a chance.

“Why don’t we understand when we make rash decisions in our early youth- while praising ourselves for being spontaneous- that these choices can affect our lives forever?” - Jane Corry - Blood Sisters

Three girls walk to school one morning, one is killed, one suffers from extreme brain damage, and the other one has a head full of lies.

Thrillers aren’t really my forte, and this was on the lighter side of the psychological variety, but for me that’s more than enough! This whole story is built on lies. Lies upon lies upon lies upon lies. And just when I thought I had learned the last lie, there was another! The characters are very flawed and not very likable, but I did find myself feeling sorry for most of them.

Even though Kitty has brain damage and can’t speak, I felt like her POV was the most intriguing, because you got to hear her thoughts and frustrations over the inability to communicate and remember events from her past. Alison has guilt over the accident and paranoia over her sister regaining her memory... but why?!
