This was free through audible plus so I figured I would finish the series since the synopsis seemed like it may improve on some of the issues I had from the first book. I did not end up liking this book much more than the first. It was not horrible but not an audible book I will be buying a paper copy of.

I liked it better than the first book. More action and decisions made by characters during this book. I appreciated more world building. If you are looking to start the series know that I wasn’t disappointed by the sequel!

I loved the first book of this series SO much. But I wasn't as big a fan of this one. The character arc/growth for Camelia especially seemed very off. The way she acts at the end of the book doesn't quite feel realistic or like something she'd do?

I just love this world so much, so I will keep reading if Clayton ever comes out with more books. But this was a disappointment after how incredible the first one was.

It has been my observation that most sequels on GoodReads have a higher rating than the first book in a series. I have attributed this to the fact that people who read the second book probably loved the first one, so it weeds out all the people who the series wasn't for.

While it is only about .3 points, I believe it is worth pointing out this book is not rated higher than the first. As someone who acknowledges how difficult writing is, holy moly did something go wrong with this book. Maybe it was just too rushed? The little tag on this book is "The Revolution is Here" well gee whiz I would have liked to see it instead of Camille running from safehouse to safehouse.

I honestly wouldn't have even finished this book had I not given up on Evermore earlier this year. I think my time would have been better spent reading something else. I doubt this is a world I will return to.

I enjoyed this a bit more than the 1st book, but am just as frustrated with Camille. Unforgiving to the 'I'm sorry' of others, she barely offers the same to others that she wrongs. And the degree of selfishness that she displays is stupefying.
