Some parts of it went over my head, so it would have been nice to read the print version so I could have skimmed through those parts. But overall, it was very readable and interesting. The audio version is nicely done, clearly read.

A really interesting read. The author does a great job of story telling. He takes you through the history of discovery of the elements, to fun anecdotes, to general observations on the future of the table.
You'd think a book on elements would be dull, but the author does a wonderful job tying together anecdotes and science on groups of elements. The book introduced me to concepts in chemistry, physics, and biology that I was unaware of. A great jumping off point for further reading.
Unfortunately, I loved and remember my serious chemistry classes from my youth, so this was a repeat of things I still know. I didn't find it as interesting because of that . . . too bad. For someone not so science-oriented, or a novice, I think it would be quite good.
I really enjoyed this book - I wish it had been around when I was a chemistry undergrad / grad student. The stories were fascinating. While having had chemistry in my background made me quite comfortable in reading about some theories and principles I believe that even a non-science person could appreciate this book!

One of the most enjoyable and entertaining pop-science books I've read. The author is great at pulling together vivid and enlightening stories and he uses the history of the periodic table to do it. Eye-opening and never dry or boring; I highly recommend it.
