When Mr. and Mrs Watson's dreams are interrupted by what sounds like an earthquake, an unlikely hero comes to their rescue. A really great illustration heavy beginning reader.

I recently attended a webinar with Kate DiCamillo where she talked about Mercy and the hot buttered toast. I have read so many of her other books, but not really any of the Mercy books. I can see how primary students could enjoy the simplicity and humor of this; I like the illustrations even better!

I read this series as a child and loved it. Rereading thus book as an adult filled me with nostalgia. The writing style reminds me of Lemony Snicket, if Snicket were optimistic.

Very cute book about a pig named mercy. Super sweet, my girl is now hoping to get the other six.

A fun and lively early chapter book for transitional readers. Abundantly illustrated in color, with large print, it's bound to draw in new readers. My son's a bit of a lazy reader sometimes, so he appreciates being able to pick up books that require less effort every once in a while. I asked him how he liked this one, and at first he said it was alright, only to then add "No, it's actually quite funny!" And there's quite a few more in the series.

Great, entertaining book! My three boys loved this story and the character of Mercy. There were many laughs and they begged to read it again for days afterwards. Very enjoyable.
