A collection of 4 short stories that read like parables.
1. What men live by - a poor shoemaker comes across a stranger along e with no clothes, food or shelter. Takes him in. It covers a time span of 6 years. The stranger has to learn three of God's truths. First, what dwells in man (love), second, what is not given to man (not given to man to know his own needs) and third, what men live by (not by care of themselves but by love of others)

2. Three questions - a king wants to learn the answers to 3 questions. How can I learn to do the right thing at the right time, who are the people I most need and what affairs are most important and need my first attention. He visits a wise hermit to find out and, over the course of the day, learns that there is only one important time, and that is now. The most necessary person is the one you are with at the time and the most important affair is to do him good.

3. The coffee house of Surat - men from several different faiths argue over who has the true and only God.

4. How much land does a man need? - a tale of greed and wanting more and more. In the end, we are going to die, we don't know when, but we will only need "6 foot from his head to his heels."

All stories are easy to read. Nothing groundbreaking but highlighting doing good for and loving others and living in the present because that's all we have control over. My favourite was the last one, which I have read twice now.
