I've spent this evening WEEPING. The way Milena Michiko Flašar writes characters was truly breathtaking. They breath. They show their different sides. And even though they have their flaws and have done their mistakes, you can't help but care for them. It was a joy and chore to read through it. It puts a mirror infront of you and shakes up sides, that may not want to be shaken. 

I recommend it when you're ready to go through such an experience or you just enjoy sad books in general.
