Really enjoyed the mystery and an easy read. I thought the ending could be better.

Reading this book felt like real life. I felt so nostalgic for things I’ve never experienced. I appreciated the rawness.
I loved this book. The characters are written beautifully and the switching between past and present allows you enough insight into their world that you feel invested in their lives and decisions. I found the parts with Conrad hard to read, it was devastating. My only gripe is the ending, it left me wanting more. Huge fan of Elle and Jonas but also left feeling sad for Peter. Such a great book.

I don’t blame anyone who gave this 1 star or DNF’d early. That content hits hard, and this book really needed a trigger warning before chapter one. I had to stop and ask myself if I could keep going.
Yes, the shifting timelines and many character webs were confusing at times. But if you can push through, what you get is a powerful story about chosen family, buried pain, and finding stability when you've never known what that feels like. It’s heavy. It's imperfect. But it’s also beautiful. It reminds you that love doesn’t have to come from where you expect. Family can be created, not just inherited.
And I stayed up way too late trying to figure out if our FMC would walk away from the new life she built or fall back into the arms of the one man who ever truly made her feel safe...the one who shares a blood oath and holds every single one of her secrets.
