DID NOT FINISH

I hated this book so much. It romanticized suicidal behavior and I fucking hated Finch.  Violet's deal was interesting but I just couldn't get past it. It could've been a good book from the premise if they didn't feel the need to quirkify this guy wanting to kill himself. why. why was any of this done besides "it would be cool". Finch's existence as a character is incredibly insensitive.

This book broke me.
I am bawling , i’m depressed, I want to lay in my room for weeks & cry.
I love Finch so so much.
A truly heart breaking story that keeps you reading. Bonus it’s set in Indiana & that’s where I live! was pretty cool to read cities I know about & street names ! I wish it was longer , I don’t know what for because the story is done & over but I just want more. I want more Finch & Violet.
UGH.
Now onto watching the movie & crying all over again.

This book was informative on mental illness.
As it talks a lot on suicidal ideation and suicide in general as well as Finch being bipolar, and the awake and sleep of bipolar disorder and how hard it is to live with that. It also shows the impact of sucide on others even when you don't think other people care, they do. This book helped me with my understanding of bipolar disorder and mental illness in general.
I highly recommend, however be sure to check content warnings before going into this book as it does have a few dark topics.
