so raw and heartbreaking... i am sincerely glad i read the last few chapters in private in the comfort of my own home as opposed to reading it in public by the river with my friend like i originally planned to because i ugly cried my way through the last ~40 pages.

just today, i told my friend how scared i am of water bodies as we were crossing a bridge but from now on, i will think of finch’s blue eyes and his love for wandering and find comfort as i look out at the river.

It was really slow in the beginning but it picked up about 100 pages in. My heart goes out to Violet, she went through a lot in this story. But is it bad that high-school-me could really relate to Finch? I’m better now than I was then. I’m glad I made it into a private school because I made it through high school. I think if I had stayed in my public school, I don’t think I would have made it out alive. I was able to find myself but it was still scary. I relate more to Finch than Violet. I survived.
