This book was good but it wasn’t great. I liked the characters a lot which was something I really enjoyed about the book but other than that nothing was really happening in this book. The story wasn’t that exciting or going anywhere until the very end.

It was still a good read but it could’ve been better if the plot was more interesting.

I feel kind of bad giving this book one star, as it is essentially sweet and good-natured -- but god, I hated it. There was nowhere near enough tension, sexual or otherwise, and very little plot. Thus, the book hangs on whether you like the characters and "the banter." I say "the banter," as it is called that several times by the narration itself -- generally a sure sign, in my opinion, that said snappy dialogue will feel forced and not funny or clever or enjoyable. I found the main character thick as a brick and was mostly annoyed by his immature emotional problems. I was also frequently pulled out of what little narrative there was by the author, who is from New Zealand, putting what I guess one would call Kiwi-isms in her supposedly American characters' mouths. I understand why other people are responding to this book, but stylistically, it rubbed me the wrong way. Pisces must be incompatible.

so i really liked this, but growling was mentioned at least six times, probably more - that is way too many times for me, i hate when people growl in books. siblings calling each other bro and sis - i cringed every time. please. stop.
other than that i really enjoyed this, some parts were genuinely funny and i loved the flirting (although a bit unknowing on one side). great feel good book :)

This book was practically perfect. It's the kind of story that will have you sighing with deep satisfaction when you read the last word, because you know you've read something amazing. Romantic, funny and charming as all hell. Highly recommend.

Gay awakening. La tensión sexual fue pero

5 Why the Hell Not Stars!

You know, I’ve given out the best boyfriend award to a very precious few, but I think it’s time to whip it out again and award this coveted prize to Jamie Cooper, because hot damn!! This guy?! Ah-may-zing. I kid you not. If anyone was going to change a seemingly straight Theo to the other side, it was going to be Jamie, and he did it with kindness, charm, confidence, and caring. Unf. I mean, seriously?? This guy is obviously a work of fiction, he was so freakin perfect.

Despite the utter farfetched cluelessness of Theo, what makes this a rare 5 stars is the writing. Just when I wanted to throttle Theo and Anyta for the gawd awful torturous slow burn, Anyta deftly makes Theo lovably irresistible, and my cold heart continued to thaw, making it to where I didn’t blame Jamie one bit for falling so hard. These two dance, and it was antagonistic, playful, fun, funny, vulnerable and intimate. Despite my mind boggling frustration, I couldn’t help but like them both! Well, I like Theo. I love Jamie. *dreamy sigh*

So though this had a few niggles, the genius snark showcasing the evolution of their relationship was impressive. It was also chock full of hard earned emotions, and thankfully, Anyta doesn’t short change us on the sweet sexy.

All in all, very enjoyable, making me swoon multiple times over my latest book boyfriend. Hands off!!
