While I recognize the possibility of addressing multiple issues at once, I was taken aback by just how much of this book was dedicated to the Ernman/Thunberg family's personal struggles with neurodiversity and mental illness in a society not built for them. This was especially jarring given how obvious Greta's near-singular focus on climate issues is; what does it matter how accessible societal structures are if the Earth is burning? I think the stories here are fascinating and important, but this felt like it should have been two books - one by Malena about her family and one by Greta about the climate issue. Even though both necessarily inform one another, squishing them together makes for an unfocused and almost counterproductive read.
(Still 4 stars though as these problems are those most important to me and I agree or empathize with many of the views, if not their presentation)
