This particular book didn't speak to me in the way other books by Heath have. Tillie is a scandalous woman in the eyes of society (she's divorced), but she'd determined her beloved sister will have what she wants (which is apparently to be part of the society that shunned Tillie).

Rexton, determined to overcome his own shady beginnings, vows to marry an impeccable bride. But, he finds himself attracted to Tillie, and of course they can't help themselves.

Tillie is ahead of her time, and Rexton falls to his more base urges. It's a decent read, but not outstanding.

Picking this up right after the masterpiece that was The Duke and the Lady in Red was probably not the greatest idea. It was good but it just didn't have what TDatLiR had. I do have to say though that is spiciest LH I've read to date.

I really enjoyed this story with a strong heroine who has been ostracized by the ton. The hero is ready to stand up by her and bring her back into the foil of society. It was a simple but enjoyable romance.

Lorraine Heath is one of my absolute favorite historical romance authors and is always on my Must Buy list. This is a great continuation of the Scandalous Gentlemen of St. James series, reads very easily as a stand-alone novel. Rexton grew up the child of a scandalous relationship and always vowed that when he married he would marry of woman of impeccable character with no scandalous past. Except when he begins a courtship with such a young lady, he's drawn more to her older sister, Tillie. Tillie may have a bit of a reputation but she has fought hard for her freedom and wants the best for her younger sister, and she doesn't think that's Rexton. They can't deny their attraction but is either willing to change their future plans for love? A really great read!

I kind of ruined this story for myself as I read Gentlemen Prefer Heiresses before I read any of the rest of the series(I thought it was a standalone :P)
I liked how protective Tillie was of her sister, and how things progressed between her and Rexton.

A surprisingly sappy conclusion to the series, despite all the craziness of our previous heroines, Tilly's major backstory was that she tried to love... and lost. And also created a massive scandal by pretending to be caught at having an affair and divorcing her husband.

There's a massively convoluted story of how Rex and Tilly meet, concerning a racehorse, Tilly's younger sister Gina and a deal for Rex to pretend to court Gina to raise her standings in society after being tainted with Tilly's scandal.

All in all despite the strangeness of the story it was rather cute.
