They say nostalgia is a toxic impulse; your memory is always sweeter than the reality. That’s true of this graphic novel. The illustrations are great and it’s a middle grade “traps & treasures” adventure story.

The snag comes from a script that was afraid to give a strong female character too much agency.  It puts Lara Croft center-stage ostensibly, while giving most of the plot moving action to a sophomoric dipshit named Chase Carver.

Chase Carver can eat a bag of dicks.

The story was incomplete and the dialogue was terrible, but the illustrations were quite fun.
