Ever since I heard that Ruth Chou Simons would be coming out with a book, I knew I had to have one! I had the wonderful opportunity to receive an advance copy of her book in exchange for an honest review, and let me tell you: honestly, this book really did an amazing job of speaking to me.
I usually don't read devotionals, mainly because I usually feel like they're too shallow or rehearsed. But with Gracelaced, I felt as though Ruth was speaking directly from her heart. And there were several instances where her words pierced my own heart!
The devotions are short and to the point for each day, which is really nice. You can read one within just a couple minutes. But the important part is that the words will stay with you even after you've finished reading for the day. It's a very relatable, encouraging book—and I wholeheartedly recommend this to all of my friends!
As an artist myself, I especially loved how Ruth interwove her art throughout the pages. I would have to stop and admire each spread (and wish that I had a wall at home full of her art!). I drew lots of inspiration and encouragement from that side of the book as well.
So if you're searching for some encouragement or just wanting a beautiful read, I know you will take something valuable from Gracelaced.

This book is just stunning in every way. 32 devotions that are so manageable and easy to read, but encourage a depth of faith in just 2 pages a day. the paintings, photos, and lettering make this book feel like an experience more than just something to read. It is akin to walking through an art gallery while meditating and praying. I will give this book as a gift in the future, of that i am sure.

Amazing and beautiful artwork thoughtfully paired with lovely devotional words and scripture. This book truly blessed my heart and made my creative soul sing. I took my time through it, meditated on the scripture and even created some of my own art in response. Loved it!

This was such a beautiful and important book for me to read right now. I read it each morning as part of my prayer and scripture study time and it really helped me focus on the most beautiful and basic parts of the gospel: God’s love, how to rely on him, and how to align our purposes with his.
And the artwork throughout (paintings, photography, and lettering) was incredible and such a pleasure to enjoy each day. I’ll be returning to this again and again.

First of all, this book is simply gorgeous! It is full to bursting with beautiful illustrations and scriptural calligraphy. Every time I picked it up I felt like it brightened my day! I loved the seasonal theme and I plan to re-read each section as the season changes. The devotionals were full of biblical truth and encouragement. I also appreciated how the author encourages a more interactive approach with space for journaling your thoughts and additional scripture references for deeper study. It is safe to say that overall, I was impressed!

This was a beautiful devotional book. The hand lettering and watercolor prints were absolutely breathtaking. The devotionals were timely, relevant and very applicable. I loved the verses provided and the questions asked. I liked how the devotionals were separated into the seasons as it fit very well with their topics and the prints that went along with them. A great choice for devotional and then a coffee table book to keep out and look at often.

I knew a book by the talented artist Ruth Chou Simons would be beautiful but this book blew me away!! The artwork and photography is stunning! I have loved following Ruth on Instagram and gleaning her wisdom on parenting, marriage, and life as a Christian. Her words in Gracelaced are beautiful, inspiring, comforting, thought provoking, and encouraging. The book made me smile and made me cry. Everyone, no matter what stage of life you find yourself in, can relate to the words in these pages. It is a book I know will remain in my library forever and one I know I will go back to time and time again.
I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. And then I bought several copies for friends and family members and look forward to leading a group of women through a study of the book in the near future.
