It feels a bit like a love letter to Minnesota and I love that. The characters were not always the smartest, and I don't have any experience with a church that walks the line of being a cult, but it was a fun read. Audiobook was nice, though I don't think the narrators were Minnesotan at all. And one of them gave a character a sort or southern accent so that was odd. Listened easily at 3x speed.

This story follows a girl who comes back to her small hometown after finding out that her ex-boyfriend has mysteriously died. She finds that the church she used to attend has taken over and seems to be more involved in the death than some of the residents of the town want to admit.

It was an entertaining story that definitely plays on some of the distrust people have with megachurches. There are a few twists and turns throughout the story that keep you guessing who might be the murderer, but I'll admit I was able to guess the last, big twist.

Overall, I think it was a good book and a nice change of pace compared to the romance novels that I've been reading.
