I really liked this one, y'all. I liked Hana and found her to be pretty relatable, and I liked Luce and James. The mysteries were intriguing and kept me guessing, and I appreciated the discussion of privilege that comes with money.
I definitely would reread this, and look forward to reading more by Yvonne Woon!

This book is really well written other than a few spots where details are reiterated unnecessarily. Once I actually sat down and focused on it the story was impossible to put down. I read roughly 70% of it in one night because I just had to know how it ended!

I got PLL vibes from this, but with more nuance and more commentary on race and class

When they want a problem to go away or a secret to stay secret they higher Hana. When Hana gets hired by an anonymous client to follow her ex-best friend Luce. She takes the job with hesitant agreement and finds herself deeper in a mystery about her fellow classmates than she could have ever predicted. With the help of an old family friend, James, (who also happened to be the school newspaper's editor) they uncover the biggest story that their high school has ever seen.
I went into this book with zero expectations because I knew nothing of what it was about and I decided to go in blind. I happened to be pleasantly surprised by this book! I thought the story moved really quickly and that it was really fun and engaging to read. I loved James and I loved how in-depth Hana's character growth was. I don't normally read mysteries so I don't have a lot to compare this to but nevertheless I was hooked throughout the entire book so if you are looking for a short, fun mystery I highly recommend this one, it was not at all what I expected it to be!

3.5 rounded down. I enjoyed it enough even though I figured out the "twist" but the plot kept my interest. I did want more of her fixing things and felt like there was just something missing from the whole mystery to give it an extra oomph, maybe I just didn't like that things were revealed too late

Well written portrayal of guilt and denial and how it can consume lives and take over without one even noticing. My Flawless Life is a great representation of how one mistake can change lives and haunt people forever and often the only way to get past it is to face those mistakes head on and right your wrongs.

DNF 80% this type of story is lot for me. Once I found out her secret I had no interest in finding out how the story ends.
