Fun adventure

Montana and co continue their journey in book 2 where they must dodge some political enemies. During the book we get to learn quite a bit more about the world and how it ticks. I look forward to book 3 and will eventually pick up the Bad Guys series as well.

And we're back slaying monsters and placing an ungodly amount of skill points! And true to the MMORPG spirit, our MC is confused and have no idea what he's doing while all the other players are picking on him for not reading the raid guide. It feels very relatable to the extreme stress of starting a new RPG game, and i'm here for it. Eric continues with his humorous writing, and long descriptions of numbers and skills, and i'm loving it.

WARNING
These books are for people who are well versed in RPG games, and I believe not very enjoyable if you don't have much knowledge about them.

the MC from detroit gets adopted by a lord who becomes a duke.
due to his missing experience the mc makes a lot of mistakes but at least he has a strong will and ends what he starts.
The dialogues definitely got better since the last book.

I'm loving the tone of this series. It's light but still exciting.

More please

I feel like I've cheated a little bit because I've been cherry-picking the best of the lit RPG books available. Lucky for me my streak has continued and I found yet another enjoyable series with a main character that is unexpectedly sympathetic and flawed. And the book world, always my real favorite character, is a nice riff on the standard fantasy fare.
