I loved this book. I listened to the audiobook. My only critique would be that I wish each chapter gave a year and location so I could keep up.

Audiobook review. I mostly listened to this, but have the physical book, which was helpful to see the family tree. This was a beautiful narrative through generations and it seemed to touch on nearly every aspect of Black history.

HOMEGOING by Yaa Gyasi is just simply amazing. It explores the family lineage of two sisters unaware of the other; one a slave, the other married to a slave trader. Each chapter follows one of their descendants, weaving a rich tapestry of history, pain, joy and love. Lyrical in its writing and inspired in its structure, HOMEGOING is an absolute must read.
