I enjoyed this much more than I thought I would! I listened to the David Shaw-Parker audiobook while following along with the print book. It was really interesting to see how Alice, Lady Glencora and Mrs Greenow compared to each other in deciding their love triangles. The marriage/romance plot lines were much more present than the political plot lines. George’s descent was upsetting to read as some of the ways Trollope writes about him are still relevant to misogynistic incels today. I really became invested in everyone’s stories by the end. I didn’t absolutely love how Alice’s was concluded, but I have no huge complaints.
Moderate: Violence, Infidelity, and Infertility
Minor: Gun violence, Sexism, Suicidal thoughts, Death, and Pregnancy
