The book gets muddled, and I feel like Rand's character begins to get lost. The overarching plot thickens and becomes more engaging. The politics of Tar Valon are the most interesting thing here and disappointingly we see less of them.

I like the book and the story. The plot is nice and I really enjoy the worldbuilding, but the way things came together fell a bit flat for me, maybe because the big showdown was still mostly independant events that didnt influence eachother that much outside of characters noticing somethign about the other plotline. The writing is still verbose in the wrong way... I feel like the scenes are more streamlined than in the first book, but some still feel unnecesarily long. The way women are handled still feels really alien. And wtf is up with lanfear? Idk, i dont like characters who are 100% only motivated by obsessive love. Maybe she'll get more depth, I hope so.

Great continuation of the story. At times very frustrating with the misunderstandings, bad communication, and utter stubbornness of Rand and Mat, but not enough to make me dislike the book. The last portion of the book was amazing and everything I was wanting to happen but similarly to the first one it all happened very quickly and then the book ended.

"Let the Dragon ride again on the winds of time." I had forgotten how great the ending of this book is. One of the best of the series.
