The final instalment was really good, of course we first caught a glimpse of Rosalie way back in book 1 and knew that victor was keeping her captive. I think if i could have had more of anything it would have been a slow softening between the 2 over the course of 3 years.. 3yrs is a LONG time and for her to not develop any real relationship with victor and still be stubbornly holding onto hurt that didnt really need to be aimed at victor (because he didnt physically kill her family) was a bit frustrating. I would have liked to see them slowly fall in love but for him to still have offered her the freedom she needed and for her to still take the opportunity as she did to find herself.
I did enjoy the story and the entire series. It was so nice to have that short epilogue 11yrs later and know they are all happy raising their families. ❤️

⭐⭐⭐ It was okay, ignoring the issues for a fun read (average not a standout)

This was a mediocre book for me but it was still a fun time and had all the elements I enjoy from MH. The MC's lack depth but also thing that is an issue for me with capture/captive romances is that a lot of the time they are very insta lovey and lack development. The angst was lacking but the plot and spice was good. I really don't have a lot to say because I was underwhelmed by this book.

Tropes: age gap, captor/captive, mafia
Triggers: Abuse, Violence, Torture, Murder

It made me feel uncomfortable. I don’t think this author knows how to handle the age-gap trope for me to enjoy it. Which is a shame because I was really interested in Viktor and Rosalie’s story.

But it’s finally over.
