I laughed, I cried, I learned sailer vernacular. What more could you want from anything in life. Chapter 12.4 was some (p 540-548) was some on the most exciting and best written shit I have ever read. What. Extraordinary work building. This shit is amazing.

You do have to go along with about 300 pages of pirating which is very fun, but a lot of words that I do not use daily. Bigger and better cast than book 1.

I was worried at first that this book would follow the same formula as the first
(dashing rogues working towards a mad heist only to be forced into a scheme bigger than them by a powerful third party)
but I was pleasantly surprised. Also pleasantly surprised to see more representation in this installation. To think that a book published in 2007 has better queer rep than most books published today. sigh. I have to say though, I'm not a big fan of Lynch's reoccurring habit of
offing prominent female characters. First the Capa's daughter, now Ezri. I dread for Sabetha's sake in the next book lol.

Great for a lot of the same reasons that made the debut great: Exhilarating action; loveable and believable characters; grim and fascinating world-building; beautifully written relationships... And of course, the intricate, masterful plot, every piece fitting perfectly together like Verrari clockwork. (geddit).
