I was completely hooked. It is fascinating to hear how much work goes into developing a suspect and how easily a detective can get tunnel vision on a suspect when there is so much evidence to sort through. I was riveted the entire time listening to this audiobook.

With all the recent attention thrown at this case (which involves some other very good books before the case was ultimately solved) it was extremely fascinating to hear how the case was cracked with modern DNA technology and genealogy. If you were intrigued by the mystery of the case then you’ll be equally entertained by how it was closed. My only knock on it is that it’s an audiobook original and not available in print form.

If you are a fan of true crime and the investigations that go into solving a cold case, I recommend this book. I couldn't wait for this version of the Golden State Killer case. After the break that led to an arrest, I wanted to know how it happened. Who were the people behind solving this cold case? What was the piece that finally broke the case wide open? These were all things I wanted to know and this was the answer to all of them.

Amazingly put together. This reads more of a "Story about Paul Holes' investigation" through the years, rather than a book about Joseph DeAngelo himself - which is good! Because I was wondering how they were going to tackle that before the trial happens. This is definitely more about the /process/ of catching the Golden State Killer than the man himself.

I love the actual in-person interviews with the victims and investigators. It reads like a great radio documentary more than an audiobook. You definitely need to give this a listen.
