I was exactly what I wanted how did they catch him and who is he.
If you are a true crime aficionado and like podcasts, you will love this book. To listen to this "book", it was like listening one long podcast episode of Radiolab. (I only call out that particular podcast because of the use of interviews with so many experts, including scientists. It is truly fascinating how modern DNA technology helped solve horrific crime spree from the 1970s.
Completely fascinating and LOVED that it was more of a dialog than audio narration. If you are interested in true crime or the GSK, give this one a listen. Worth it!
This is a perfect follow-up to I’ll Be Gone in the Dark. I was surprised at how emotional I got listening to this. It listens very much like a podcast but was very engaging and interesting.
All I can say is, I am so happy for the living victims. While decades later, they now have some closure knowing the scum that committed these horrendous crimes has finally been caught.

Fascinating subject that is narrated by one of the co-authors. If the victim, expert, etc. is alive, then that person speaks his/her dialog. Some news footage included. Nice balance between backstory, investigative techniques and persons of interest, and finally the arrest. Highly recommend.

Evil Has A Name is a great, and quick, stand alone podcast-style book but can also be used as a follow up to Michelle McNamara's I'll Be Gone in the Dark, published just months before the identification and arrest of the GSK. As expected by any book on true crime, you will rehear events and details from other true crime books on the same topic as this is not a sequel or volume II to any other book. As a more more of an investigation forward story, you hear the story as seen through Paul Holes' eyes, but more importantly you hear the emotions in the voices of investigators and victims alike. What everyone wants but we may never get is a reason and further understanding of the perpetrator of these crimes. The investigation is ongoing and this was published soon after the the arrest, so there isn't much additional information out there to be told. As a side note, Paul Holes needs to become a regular narrator for Audible.com. His voice is wonderful.
This Audible original is a documentary on crimes of Golden State Killer and events leading upto his arrest. Thanks to relentless pursuit by a Forensic investigator and genetic genealogy, a nearly impossible feat was accomplished. 4 🌟 because the victim stories were dragged a bit to increase the length of the audible.

To all of the true crime and criminology lovers out there this book is a nice tidy telling of the investigation behind the capture of the Golden State Killer. I remember hearing about this on the news and the groundbreaking use of genealogical dna to solve cold cases, and I liked this because it was told by the investigation team, as well as victims and family members of victims of the Golden State Killer.
