I continued to fall in love with this series with this book. The crime, as almost always (exception being book 2), was full of intrigue which I greatly enjoy. However, I love how the characters are developing - both as individuals and their relationship with each other. I was excited to see
Spoilerthe growth of the agency. Not just because I'm happy for Strike to finally be prospering, but more so because it brings the addition of new characters.
I sincerely hope that as the series progresses that characters beyond Strike and Robin will be developed. I can't wait for book #5!

I liked this book. It was long, but I found myself wanting to keep reading it.

These mysteries get better and better. Strike and Ellicot are addictive characters, I can't get enough. Superb writing, always.

4.5 stars
I loved this book. It is probably one of my favorite Cormoran Strike books, though I have a few issues with Robin being the "damsel in distress" over and over and over again.
The details in the clues are ridiculous, as in I applaud you if you catch them all. I am very impressed with JK Rowling's research and ability to weave these detailed clues so subtly.
I recommend this to all mystery lovers, though it is probably better to read them in order.

It always goes like this: some parts are utterly predictable, others come out of left field, Strike and Robin's ongoing angst of a budding romance is annoying and trite and needs to just stop (but won't), Strike's romances are painfully annoying to read about, yet nonetheless the book always makes for such a good read. This one was better than the last though; reading about the English upper class and Robin's stint in Parliament was entertaining, and Rafael's reveal was unexpected—not a big shocker, but pleasantly surprising all the same.

3.5 I really like the characters she has created in these books & will look forward to the next edition. The story(ies) were a little to convoluted to really pull it up to 4stars for me

I really enjoy this series and the characters but this one was needlessly long.

Possibly my favorite Cormoran Strike novel, and certainly so much better than the last, Career of Evil. I loved the relationship dynamic between Cormoran and Robin, having grown and tensions continue without it being annoying, and London as a character was as strong as ever. The plot was twisty and fascinating with just the right amount of characters to insist you are paying attention without being Catch 22. I want another.
