I loved the character interaction and how they both learn and grow from their experiences together. Not going to lie most romances have problems with real character development. But not this book. Errytt does a 180 for his level of work ethic and deciding what to do with his life. I was proud of him at the end. And honestly, he has Cassie's influence to thank for that. Its a great example of how people can inspire you to be your best self.

This was such a cute story! The beginning of the book gave off Pretty Woman vibes and I was so here for it!

This was a sweet but angsty read as they struggle with their growing relationship and being from extremely different stations in life. It’s a good love story with a bit of spice.

EHEHWHHEH

I absolutely love this series. The extension at first seemed to be resolved too fast but, then the plot thicken. I don’t really have much to comment on for this book as it was a beautiful reading experience and I love it so much! The FL was a bit shyer than I usually like and the ML was really economically unaware, which was intentional. I still couldn’t get down with it like that.

Tropes
  • Boss + PA
-Billionaire

My Thoughts Read this to fill in a part of the tropeathon, Billionaire isn't usually my thing! This was fine but didn't really catch me. It relied a bit on assumptions/miscommunication which I am not a fan of. But the writing style was easy to read and I did like the ending, it fitted the story well

Triggers -Discrimination -Poor/lack of funds

Representation Nope

Spice Fairly common, knotting and his cum is special

Cassie, the female human lead, is desperately searching for a job but no one wants to hire an obviously desperate “orbit rat”. Errytt, the male alien lead, has been sent to Edgespace with the demand he shape up to his billionaire family’s expectations by reviving a mining operation. When Cassie applies for a job, he hires her, as she’s the first person to express an interest. Then he meets her and is instantly attracted to both her appearance and her intelligence. As she whips him into shape, he wants more than an employer/employee relationship but she’s certain his family wouldn’t want the likes of poor her…

This story is dual POV, extremely well written, and the beginning of a great new series within the author’s established world. I really enjoyed meeting members of the Ximian species who’d been mentioned in the author’s other works. I enjoyed Cassie’s determination to succeed on her own and her willingness to sacrifice her own desires to provide Errytt with the life he was accustomed to. I enjoyed Errytt’s significant and remarkable character development and his willingness to make changes to keep Cassie in his life. I chuckled at their banter and enjoyed the intimate scenes, finding the idiosyncrasies of the Ximian species erotic. Billionaire romance is not really my thing but this rags to riches story was gorgeous.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary, honest review.

I sat and read this in one sitting...AFTER I'd called it a night and went to bed. Does that tell you anything about how much I loved this book? No joke, it was sweet and soft with enough heart that it wasn't over the top. I loved it. The book was just a quick, sweet, feel good read that is perfect for that extra literary "hug" we sometimes need. Loved it!

Three stars to this scifi romance where the plot took a back-seat, but the romance still fizzled

I finally read this book after seeing it all over TikTok and, overall, it was an enjoyable read however I did feel like the plot took a back seat, and that's not such a bad thing - except that we only really get one decent sex scene. I felt like the yearning could have lasted longer; this was a very short read.

Cassie was a fun protagonist, and I enjoyed the world building. However, the ultimate conflict between the characters felt... forced. Or perhaps conflated is a better description. Sure, it gave the characters room to grow, but I'm never a huge fan of the grovelling make-up (
