Quel ennui ... :/

It was a nice short Christmas novella, perfect for a morning with nothing to do. Though, I have no interest in reading the second in the series (some books don't need these extended universe.)

This was a nice holiday read. It wasn’t great. It wasn’t bad. It was okay. I didn’t really care whether or not Finn and Garrett got together.

3.5 stars. Cute, but I liked [b:Beautiful Temptation|48735099|Beautiful Temptation (So This Is Christmas #2)|Christina Lee|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1573312041l/48735099._SY75_.jpg|74102056] just a bit more. Garrett and Finn were lovely characters with obvious chemistry and it was nice to see a pre-Caden Blair, although the situation in the beginning felt a bit iffy. The family stuff and holiday feeling were enjoyable as well.

Soo sweet. But it didn't become too much. It was good.

It’s probably more a case of it’s not the book, it’s me.

This one didn’t work at all for me. First, having Blair there for half of the story was just gross. Yes, the two didn’t really have a committed relationship and Blair was what ultimately inspired Finn to go after Garrett. But this is a Christmas story and Finn having sex with Blair a day or two before professing his feelings for Garrett just didn’t feel right. At least have some breathing room for Finn to come to terms with his feelings and build back a relationship with Garrett. This doesn’t have to happen in the space of a couple days.

The steam was also more icky than hot, as Finn and Garrett did their rutting in the chalet’s kitchen, with both sets of their parents and siblings sleeping upstairs. When they made it to the room, they had to keep it down because they shared a wall with Finn’s brother and his girlfriend. Geez, talk about gross.

I think it says a lot about this book that the most touching moment came between Garrett’s parents and not between Garrett and Finn. That’s a sure sign of a romance that doesn’t work.

Absolutely beautiful!

So much was put into this novel. Happy times, near death experiences, broken hearts, new love. I don’t want to give too much away, but this beautifully written book really moved me.

4 dreamy stars. This was such a cute, holiday romance with slow burn for days. Garrett had a lifetime crush on his best friend's brother, Finn. But after a less than pleasant goodbye, they went their separate ways. But now after years apart their families are spending the holidays together. Sparks fly. Old feelings creep up and new wonders are realized. They are slowly drawn to each other and the build up was just so warm and perfect. That sweet ending had be swooning in my chair. This was beautifully, dreamy.

This was a really sweet brothers best friend book. The history between the two main characters comes out during their different POV chapters. I like this one as there was no insta-love and no sudden great future together but instead the start of a relationship and the slow developing of something more.
