Loved it. Action packed, simply worded, compelling thriller. I am an Alex Rider fan now. Make room, James Bond!
This was an enjoyable read. It has moments of unbelievability, but I think that's why we read fiction. As an escape from what is real. And this book is a good escape.
This book was very intense, adventurous, and also pretty violent. There's a lot of mystery and each chapter ends leaving you wanting to read more. After I read stormbreaker, I couldn't stop reading the rest of the alex rider books. There are some things that are revealed about some characters as you move along through the series. In every alex rider book, an evil person has some sort of plan to kill a lot of people. MI6 (England's CIA) sends alex as an undercover agent. Alex lives with his housekeeper Jack because his parents and dead and his uncle just died. You find out how his parents died in scorpia. It's really intense! Sometimes, the books will lead you to think one thing, but then you find out the truth and you can't stop reading!
Genuinely such a refreshing/fun read!!! Gave me so much happy nostalgia for the books I read growing up— middle grade sci-fi writing with so many elements of humor and social commentary as well. I generally dislike first books in spy style series for the training montage parts, but thankfully that didn’t take up a lot of this book. The antagonist was. Uh. Interesting, Horowitz. But the last few pages!!!!!! 4 stars 4 a fun time.

I had no clue what I had begun reading when I started reading this book. By the first night I had read more than half the book and was staying up to read more! Thrilling and exciting!
I picked this up by mistake, since it is a young adult book.
Undaunted, and in need of a new read, I kept it and zipped through it in no time.
The protagonist, Alex is a young boy, maybe 13? His uncle/guardian dies and Alex finds out he was actually a spy. The shadowy government department that employed his uncle then recruit and train Alex to take his place and give him a mission.
It's an action-packed, completely implausible story that is highly entertaining to read. I can see why the series is popular.

Did not realize it was a kids book. Looking for more of his mystery fiction geared towards adults.
