this book may not be "good" in any traditional sense but it's a real blast to read. fond memories of the fourth one with the weird real life video game plot pervade my mind

Possibly a great spy adventure for young kids but just ok to me as an adult.

Teenage boy with action and adventure. Alex is recruited by MI6 after the death of his uncle to complete his uncles last mission.

I'm seriously in love with Alex Rider! I read the whole series and never got even close to bored! These were great books and I'd reread them in a second :)

This book quickly sucked me in. Nice action/spy/thriller. I liked the 14 year old protagonist. The action, while implausible wasn't so outlandish as to ruin it for me. Quite an easy read. I can definitely see myself sharing it with my teenage nephews.

It’s OK. Alex didn’t really do anything except jump out of a plane. That was pretty cool. I definitely enjoyed this more when I read it as a 12-year-old.

This book is a super fun and exciting introduction to Alex Rider's new double life as a secret agent. The fact that his uncle secretly trained him for life as a spy since a young age is so wild to me but also makes sense. It is more likely he was training him for protection and then it just so happened to be useful for spy work. I just say, Alex has a lot of dumb courage because I could NEVER.

I read the first four or so as a kid, and I decided I wanted to pick them back up and finish the entire series, so I look forward to that!

I hate that this was the first book I finished in 2021 (Review to come)
