I generally love Matt Haig and the way he captures the beauties and pains of life in his books.

The premise of the book reminded me of the feeling of coming out of depression. After feeling dull or nothing at all the protagonist of the book widowed Grace Winters acquires supernatural talents that make mundane experiences extraordinary and give her the ability to suddenly feel everything and more.
A beautiful reminder that sometimes it is what is within us and how we view the world, that can change everything that surrounds us.

Unfortunately "The Life Impossible" lost me the more supernatural and weird elements were introduced to the story. The entire murder mystery subplot was unnecessary and the ending and resolution of the book were too surreal, over the top and crazy for my taste and felt like a first draft rather than a deserving ending for Grace, her new friends and Ibiza‘s future.

I have read two other books written by Matt, and those seemed to get to the plot quicker than this book. To me, the storyline went on for too long. The book would’ve also been great without a villain. I liked it, but didn’t love it.

This book was hard to get into but taught me such beautiful lessons and perspectives and I teared up at parts and simultaneously felt so insignificant and so significant in this giant beautiful world and universe we exist in.
