Based on Haig’s earlier work, I anticipated the magical realism. Despite the tone shifts and occasional preachiness, I enjoyed the unpredictable plot and flawed characters.

📖 - The Life Impossible is a unique, fairytale-like story told in an adult way. The beginning pulled me in quickly and I flew through the first part, but around 40% the pacing slowed and I found my attention drifting. Despite that, it remained a beautifully imaginative read with a certain charm that makes it stand out.

I found the large amount of mathematical and scientific references weren't to my liking. I did enjoy reminiscing about my trips to Ibiza and I'd love to go back and explore more off the beaten track thanks to this.
