I enjoyed most of this book. It is a better representation of the horror genre than most books out there labeled as “horror”. It did have multiple creepy scenes as well as some gore. The beginning and middle were well written and engaging. The ending was fairly confusing (another reviewer accurately referred to it as a series of “fever dreams”). Although I think I figured out what happened at the end, it took multiple times of reading the very end for me to draw my conclusion. Based upon other reviews, a lot of other people are still very confused. Overall a good read.

Really enjoyed this, slightly wish I had read it instead of listened. But it was a very enjoyable book

"It was you, man."
I think this book has great atmosphere and it was the first time I read a horror book that actually creeped me out a little. It has very relatable commentary about grief and I like the main character. I was really enjoying the horror aspect until about halfway through, where it switches to more of a fantasy style. I also thought the ending was a little confusing, but all-in-all it was a great read!

Bizarre. That’s it, that’s the review.
This book left me feeling confused and greatly dissatisfied… if jumped themes too many times for my liking. It felt like someone having a trip trying to explain something to me, veering off on left turns and switching subjects way too often. I enjoyed a lot of the scenes, it just didn’t come together for me.
Also TW for animal abuse, animal death. I was not prepared for the Cujo appearance in this one.
