I have never read a book where the title was more appropriate. Grace really did save Jaxson. It would be hard to believe such a successful man came from such horrific beginnings. It made him hard but love made him so much more.

I am glad that miscommunication didn’t ruin what Jaxson and Grace had started. I really enjoyed this book.

My Saving Grace surprised me. Mostly because I didn't know this was a spin off series.. which is completely on me. The only good outcome of me not knowing that was due to the fact this was pretty easy to read. I don't think I was ever confused about anything but I'll definitely be diving into the previous two series just to make sure.

The characters themselves were pretty interesting. They definitely had their cute and romantical moments throughout the book as well. Gracie and Jaxson had their chemistry in the bag because it was very easy to find them likable. The whole charade of being lovers was laughable at times because feelings were being developed and I enjoyed every second of them trying to play it cool.

In the end, any fake relationship becomes real and I love watching the characters realize this. It gave me some Hallmark vibes and I will definitely try to continue with this series!

Thinking you boss is hot but annoying is one thing, but falling into his bed and waking up with more than they bargained for is something completely different. Grace VanRyan is steps away from completing the bar and becoming a lawyer for the ABC Corp., but first she needs to finish her apprenticeship with Jaxson Richards. Sparks instantly fly between the two that lead them down a path of destruction. But will it be their careers or their courtship that will last through the hurdles they need to cross. And what about the biggest hill to jump over - her father - Richard VanRyan..... In true Melanie Moreland fashion the reader is once again surrounded by characters that feel like they are family. Hopes and dreams are riding a very thin line and the reader turns each page needing more while at the same time they are in awe of the brilliance that is another Melanie Moreland masterpiece.

I know that I am in the minority here, but this book wasn’t for me. The first half of the book, I was here for it. I loved the evolution of Jaxson and Grace’s relationship and love. You could tell through the pages that they were both genuinely falling in love with each other.

Then Jaxson breaks up with her, essentially out of nowhere. That isn’t even the worst part. The absolutely AWFUL things that he says to Grace literally made me want to throat punch Jaxson.

That all happened in the first 50%.

Then we get to the marriage that we read about in the prologue. And it all goes downhill from there for me.

Essentially Jaxson gets Grace so drunk that she will lower her inhibitions and marry him (he literally says this in so many words). Because that’s “the only way that he can keep her”. He doesn’t tell her why he broke up with her out of nowhere. He won’t talk about anything. But WAIT. He still tells her that he can’t love her and this won’t last forever. Yeah, I really want to be married to someone who says that.

WHAT.

The only good part about the last 50% is the interactions between Richard and Jaxson.

I’m sorry, but this was a miss for me. I will most likely read the next book in the series and I’m hoping that it’s a better hit for me!

Of all the things I have lost in my life, losing you will be my biggest regret.

I loved seeing Richard and Katy's daughter Gracie find her happily ever after. We had hints of Jaxson and Grace's attraction (and a big plot point) in the prequel to this series and I was thrilled to read this story and get the full picture. Jaxson was so much like Richard it was almost the whole "fall in love with someone who is like your father" stereotype, but there were plenty of differences between Jaxson & Richard as well as between the love stories that these two men experienced that this story was definitely different. I really enjoyed seeing the kids of the BAM crew all grown up and I can't wait for more in this series.

3.5 stars!
This was a fun expansion of the Contract/Vested Interest world. It was fun seeing everyone from the past series. I especially enjoyed the Jaxson v Richard smackdowns. Katy is still a badass. Gracie is definitely a great mix of both Katy and Richard. I love her backbone and how she won't let people talk her down.

I totally didn't expect Jaxson to be the way he was. I saw everyone say he's like Richard in a way cause he's an asshole but I just found Jaxson very caring mother-hen/puppy like lol. Clumsy too. That whole Christmas scene? That was hilariously cute.

Little Grace's all grown up

I was so excited to read this book and it did not disappoint. Seeing Gracie out in the world was stupendous. Always knew RvR would not like his baby girl finding a man of her own. And Jaxson, he captured my heart from the get-go! The scenes he has with Richard are just brilliant!
