Excellent and engaging read up until the last 50-100 pages. All of a sudden near the end the pacing went extremely fast and the ending simultaneously did not feel complete and felt like every plot point was wrapping up. There are definitely still some loose threads available for a sequel or connected book but it was definitely an odd feeling to end with. That aside, I thought this was quite an enjoyable read especially if you're here for the blood and politics of fantasy.

If I could give this 6 stars I would! This checked every box that I have for a fantasy read.

I kid you not, after chapter 2 I knew the book was going to be an absolute banger! And it did not disappoint me at all.

Absolutely loved the plot. Could not get enough of the characters and creatures. The emotional roller coaster this read had me on was absurd. I'm 100% a vibes rater and this was undoubtedly my vibe.

There were a couple of loose ends that may or may not have been intentional. Idk if they are for spinoffs or sequels but I do have questions. It didn't drive me crazy to know the answer so it didn't really effect my rating.
