I've been reading nonfiction and historical fiction lately, Nora Roberts is one of my go-to authors when I need to switch genres. She'd never disappoint. I loved the story. Also the subplot—how the mind of an alcoholic works—the way it was written, really good.

An overall fun and frothy read! I could quibble about a few things (the lack of friendships for the female lead was a big one!) but in general, I enjoyed this book. The mystery was interesting, the European ventures exciting and there were not one but TWO sweet and sexy romances. Are there many threads from her other novels included? Enough that it didn’t feel as unique as it probably did when I first read it back in 98, but it still managed to stand on its own.
Nearly identical to The Liar. And I guessed the baddie super early in the book.
This book had its good and bad points. It was thick with suspense and detail but sometimes the action diminished everything that was happening. It reminded me of some of Roberts' other work at times: The Stars series for instance, as well as Thomas Crown Affair and To Catch a Thief. Still, Ryan and Miranda were very likable and I enjoyed the secondary plot with Andrew and Annie.
I’m 50% into this audiobook and am over it. The characters are horrific. The female main character is an idiot with no backbone. I’m told how smart she is but there is 0% of this book that proves that. There’s 9 hours left
Excellent use of threatening faxes. An unexpected delight that this was written in 1998.
While Nora Robert's books all pretty much end the same way, this book in others ways kept me guessing for quite some time! It was a very fun read.
Meh. Nora has gotten much better since this one was written.
Plot had some dragging moments, and the answer to "whodunit" seemed obvious. I wished more questions had been answered by the ending. Romance was entertaining to follow, and art world was believable. Feeling invested in the main character Miranda and her brother Andrew, and highly entertained by her suitor, Ryan, kept me turning pages. Good, quick beach read (though I was sadly, not on the beach).
