Loved this grumpy-sunshine hockey romance about Will and Chloe. Will (Daddy P) has a small daughter and his nanny is a “no-show.” Chloe, the kindergarten teacher, saves the day and brings her to Will’s practice… Although the hockey grump doesn’t see it that way. Will is such a hot, grumpy, groveling MMC! Definitely a slow-burn, but the SPICE is worth the wait! Loved this by Kandi Steiner!
Thank you to Valentine PR and Kandi for this ARC!
This hockey series is becoming one of my favorites and if you love a single dad and nanny then this is for you!
Chloe is a sunshiney kindergarten teacher who helps Daddy P with his daughter. When he asks her to nanny and move in she decides to try it for extra money. The forced proximity and Chloe’s energy causes the two to begin a benefits relationship. They’re not friends but he’s teaching her about what she likes because of her not being very experienced.
Of course she makes the grumpy dad and his daughter smile and brings them so much love! Chloe is strong and comes from strong women.
Check TW but there is mention of loss of a parent (Daddy P was married and lost his wife).
I’m so excited for the next in this series!
Tropes:
Single dad x nanny
Hockey
Cat mom
Grumpy x sunshine
He teaches her

4 ⭐️’s- I was unsure about this book because of the dead wife/mother of his daughter aspect and him still being in love with her but I feel like Kandi Steiner handled this really well and I never felt like I hated that in this book, it was well written.

Daddy P," also known as the steadfast Will Perry, not only protects the Ospreys' goal but also serves as a dedicated guardian to his daughter Ava, after a significant loss. Chloe, once Ava's teacher and now her caring caregiver, adds a radiant presence to Will's serious demeanor. While Ava reflects her father's reserved nature, Chloe’s lively personality gently thaws Ava's icy exterior, creating moments of pure magic.
The culmination of emotions leads to a heartwarming kiss that captivates readers, crafted by Kandi's captivating writing. The evident chemistry between Will and Chloe highlights their strong connection and seamless harmony. Kandi intricately weaves their story, captivating readers with their passionate relationship. As they navigate their emotions and Chloe's crucial role in Ava's life, they choose a path illuminated with happiness.
The storytellers skillfully invite listeners into the lives of these characters. Hannah's depiction of resilient women aligns perfectly with Kandi's storytelling, while Max embodies the resolute yet tender-hearted Will Perry

Will and Chloe's story was another fantastic read from this author!
The chemistry and the push/pull between these two was everything! The spicy moments (wow) and the sweeter ones, the funny times and the more emotional ones, all made for a great read.
Daddy P was not at all how he seemed in the last couple books. I mean initially, yes, but Chloe brought out the best in him. And in Ava, too. She was amazing for them both, just what they needed!
The characters grew as the story progressed, healing past hurts and focusing more on themselves and their own wants and needs and less on others. It took some time to get there, but it was wonderful when they did.
Chef was a great addition to the story, and of course it was fun to see the other characters we already know and love from the previous books.
I thoroughly enjoyed this and can't wait for the rest of the series. The next book sounds intriguing!
