I will say that, since I splurge read several of Crusie’s books in a row, they do start to blend together a little. But I can still confidently say that I enjoyed this book.

There’s art forgery, a family art gallery in debt, breaking and entering, a “frail” dog, two family lines of forgery and deception. Lots of messy goings on. And along the way, there are several couples falling in love, and such smooth witty banter, that this book goes by very fast.

This was a fun book, just like Crusie’s other books have been. She’s such a fun writer, the banter so realistic and easy to read. The ending was nice for everyone, and I especially liked how everyone grew and finally did what they needed to. Some of the very minor characters got a little messy in my head, but that’s all right.

Overall, another good book, and I’m looking forward to reading more.

I love it when the main character rides the line between really good and a little bad. I guess forging paintings is more than a little bit bad, and breaking into someone's house is also on the "more than a little bit bad" side - but breaking into someone's house to replace the forged painting with a real one - well - that's when you have the crook with the golden heart. Add a love interest who is also riding the naughty but nice line and a cast of a crazy family - and you have yourself a fun little book.

Honestly not sure which of these two books I love more :D Daveyyyy is just perfect and Tilda is hilarious with her asthma and she’s beautiful with her art and her family and like I love Gwennie and Ford and Clea for all her ridiculous money hunting! To be fair Davey did steal her money twice.

This was really cute and pretty spastic. The Goodnights are adorable, lovable, and ridiculous. Crusie really knows how to write unique characters that you can have a good time with. There tons of good moments in this book, but it can drag if you're not in the right mood.

Also, it wasn't until I read this again that I realized Davy is Sophie's (from [b:Welcome to Temptation|33727|Welcome to Temptation (Dempsey's, 1)|Jennifer Crusie|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1168462742s/33727.jpg|2563621]) brother. I'm seriously so dumb. But after I made that connection, it made the whole part with Davy's family a lot more enjoyable.

You couldn't say that Tilda's life was very pink before but it was far from being hellish. Unfortunately, when her niece sells the wrong painting to the wrong person, Tilda is forced to turn into amateur thief and her life is irreparably changed. Between kisses in closets with a delicious unknown male, her mother's gallery invaded by potential FBI agents / con men / thieves / contract killer and burglaries that become her everyday life, Tilda doesn't know anymore if she should regret her life before ...
I ABSOLUTELY loved this book. The author's style is still AWESOME (lots of humor =)), a multitude of intrigues which cross to provide a very exciting story (I loved discovering the details of the art world including fakes and forgeries ><) and the colorful and so weird characters that we totally love !!
Tilda is just hilarious !! She has so many secrets and facets but she's still a girl like us, with her fears and lousy moments >< She and Davy are perfect together =D And the story of her family was soooo fascinating with generations and generations of scammers =) I loved her family too : Eve (and Louise), who is slightly mad but so endearing, Nadine THE ultimate teen who is soo funny but I think my favorite is Gwen and her dreams full of boats and cocktails with umbrellas ><
I loved to learn more things about Davy: no alpha male overflowing with testosterone but a charming con man with his doubts, his strengths and weaknesses ... and a strong feeling of being into a madhouse ><
The two huge strengths of this book are the happy ending (because I like happy endings and particularly Gwen's ><) and the "realistic" side of the romance (YEP lousy sex exists, even if the guy is super handsome and the girl like him, there is not necessarily unlimited orgasms !!)
I regret that this is the last book about the Dempseys but I'll try to read other books by the same author =)
PS: TOTALLY loved the theory of "Doughnuts and Muffins" x)
