Kitay deserved better. I wish Rin had more character development instead of constantly being unsure and changing her mind depending on others opinions. The ending made me pity Nezha and understand that all of them were victims. Venka was actually shocking and I really didn't like how her and Rin left off; I thought it ruined their friendship and development just as a way to show Rin's deterioration but I feel like that had already been displayed plently in other ways. I wish there was more of Chaghan and his storyline. Overall, it was a good book and the ending was fitting.

This saga is so cruel... 10/10 it destroyed me 😃

"Let them think of us as dirt, Rin thought. She was dirt. Her army was dirt. But dirt was common, ubiquitous, patient, and necessary. The soil gave life to the country. And the earth always reclaimed what it was owed."

"And she still loved him. She’d never stop. But that didn’t matter. You’ve abandoned me, she thought as he wept with relief into her shoulder. You thought you could fool me, but I know your soul. And if you’re not with me, you’ll burn, too."

It truly is complicated.

I loved the whole trilogy: characters, rivalry, desperation, gods, villains. I can see it's many many flaws, but I'm here for the ride.

Not sure how I feel about the ending… I did enjoy this book for the most part though. The ending just felt a little… sudden.

jesus christ that was so good, genuinely. it didn’t feel like i was just reading a book but a more like a long forgotten prophetic fable or something from ancient times lol. not once was i bored reading this, which is something that i struggle with especially in longer~ books.

the perfect ending in my opinion, there was no other way. i won’t like i definitely saw it coming there was no way rin would get a happy ending, her life in and of itself was a tragedy. there was no way she would live in a world without war, in which she would be nothing but a spectacle. i loved the rin and nezha dynamic and wished this book had more of them interacting but i understand it probably wouldn’t make sense given there fighting a war against each other lol. <spoiler/>
